The Footsteps of the Prophet

(Introductory Note:  This Trogo is quite a bit longer than usual.  However, the nature of the subject requires a thorough treatment.  I hope you will find this piece beneficial.)

Life takes strange twists.  It has often been observed that truth is stranger than fiction, and indeed this is so.  For instance, this is the case in America’s (and many Christians’) current attitudes about Islam.  Allow me to explain.

The natural gut reaction of many people to the events of September 11 and the ensuing terrorism and violence that have followed has been an outcry and outrage against militant Islam.  Voices have been raised in anger and fear at the inherent violence of Islam.  Many have reacted very strongly.  In fact, in the aftermath of the various terrorist attacks on our nation, there have even been some who have taken matters into their own hands and angrily attacked any Muslim or Arab in sight.  Of course this latter action is reprehensible and unjustified.  Just because a person is Muslim, or from the Middle East, does mean they are vicious, cruel or hateful.  Not all Muslims are terrorists.  Not all people from the Middle East are even Muslim.  We must be fair, balanced and knowledgeable in our actions, words, and emotional response to what has occurred in our nation.  Reason, and a reasonable faith, call for this. Islam and Mormonism

Through the years quite a number of people writing about Mormonism have noted similarities between Islam and the LDS Church.  As early as 1831 critics of Joseph Smith compared him to Muhammad.  Smith himself was known to make the same comparison.  In the midst of the so-called “Mormon War” of 1838 Joseph defied his enemies by declaring:  “I will be to this generation a second Mohammed, whose motto in treating for peace was ‘the Alcoran [Koran] or the Sword.’  So shall it eventually be with us — ‘Joseph Smith or the Sword!’ ”

In light of this, we have prepared a chart listing some of the similarities between Islam and Mormonism.  We hope you will find this interesting and informative.  Just click here to view the chart of Similarities Between Islam and LDS.

Group Snapshot: Black Muslims

Okay, you might want to sit down for this one… Here is the origin of the races of mankind. The black race is the direct creation of God/Allah. All living black men are direct descendents of a godly tribe called Shabazz. But as time progressed things began to go awry. The first mishap occurred 50,000 years ago when a mad scientist caused all black people’s hair to become kinky, just to cause them trouble. Years later another scientist named Yakub (the biblical Jacob) began experimenting with the creation of other races of people. He first created brown people, then red, then yellow. His last, and lowest creation, was the race of white men. White men were devils and full of evil. This creation occurred in the year 4004 B.C. The white devils were destined to rule the year for 6000 years, and then the rightful rule of the black race would be restored. The end of the 6000 years occurred in 1914. Continue reading
