Earth Versus the Flying Saucers

It all began on an ordinary day in June of 1947. The pilot of a small plane named Kenneth Arnold saw some unusual objects flying near Mt. Ranier in Washington state. They were not circular in shape—actually more crescent-like. But he described their motion as being like saucers skipping over the surface of the water. Later, this would result in people calling these objects “flying saucers.” Thus was born not only a new entry in our popular vocabulary, but a cultural phenomenon.

Is Reincarnation in the Bible?

Question:  Does the Bible teach reincarnation?  For example, wasn’t John the Baptist the reincarnation of Elijah?

My Answer: A brief answer is simply, no.  But let’s explore this a little bit. Continue reading

Are Jehovah and Allah the Same God?

In the history of religion Judaism, Christianity and Islam are considered the three Abrahamic faiths.  The idea is that there is a continuity between the three different religions that can be traced back to the legacy of Abraham and the early Hebrews.  For this reason, so the argument goes, all three religions are basically differing expressions of the same faith.  So this means that all three religions actually worship the same God.  The Yahweh of the Jews is really the same deity as the God/Jehovah of the Christians, who is in turn no different than the Allah of the Muslims.  But is this really true? Sure and Certain Resurrection

I remember a Good Friday several years ago when my wife and I went to see the Christian film entitled The Case for Christ.  This is the true story of Lee Strobel, a Chicago crime reporter whose world turned upside down when his wife became a Christian.  Before this, they were both avowed atheists.  Strobel decided that the only way to win his wife back to reason was to disprove Christianity.  And the way to do this was to disprove the Resurrection of Jesus Christ as an historical event.  The film traces Strobel’s investigation into the nature and evidence about the Resurrection.  It is an excellent film, which I highly recommend. Sanctity of Human Life

This week in America, we consider the “Sanctity of Human Life.” The abortion issue is a critical (perhaps the critical) moral issue of our time. As a ministry, Truth Builders is committed to protecting human life from conception to death. All life is a sacred gift from God. In this post, we offer you several resources addressing this matter.

First of all, the fundamental issue is when does human life begin? If life begins at conception, then abortion is automatically the killing of a person, and is a reprehensible evil. A few months ago, I presented a seminar demonstrating that both scientifically and biblically, we know human life begins at conception. Click here to view this video.

If you live in the state of Virginia in the U.S., you should be aware that the General Assembly of this state is considering a proposed amendment to the state constitution that would have radical and dangerous consequences not only regarding abortion but other life issues as well. Working with Christian attorney Barbara Mouly, we have created a video that discusses the process of amendments being added to the state constitution, and addresses the inherent dangers of this proposed amendment.
